Isabelle Lafargue has been drawing and painting since her childhood. Self-taught, she explored different techniques and media. In 2005, she discovered the art of porcelain painting and immediately became enthralled. Since that first discovery, she trained in Limoges, France, as a Ceramic Designer and in 2011 was designated "Atelier d'Art de France" in Paris. Isabelle paints each piece by hand making it a one of a kind piece of art. She works with traditional and modern techniques and each piece is kiln fired several times between 800 and 900 degrees Celsius. Isabelle's work is fine and delicate, designed using precious metals, fine gold and platinum.
Isabelle immigrated to Atlantic Canada in July 2012 where she settled with her family in Dieppe, New-Brunswick. She is a professional juried member of the New Brunswick Crafts Council, the Quebec Crafts Council, and the Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council. Isabelle is also a member of the International Porcelain Artist and Teachers (IPAT) and teaches from her studio in Dieppe. In June 2016 she has been invited to teach in the US at the Cazenovia NY painting seminar.

“My creations begin with a dream, sometimes awake, which continues to live with the porcelain”
Fascinated by paintings and decorative arts, it is with passion that I have devoted myself to the art of porcelain painting for over 12 years.
I love working on white porcelain, thin and translucent, this is my favorite “canvas”. My work is detailed, yet whimsical, contemporary,
yet mysterious and elegant.
Colour plays a key role in my creations. This can be an explosion of bright, vivid and contrasting colours, or a harmony of soft, vibrant and elegant ones. Precious metal, fine gold and platinum, add that touch of nobility, delicacy or even magic to my creations.
I want my creations to travel around the world. Whether they grace the finest tables or simply give pleasure, they embellish all interiors. This is how they LIVE, by giving pleasure to the person who owns, receives or gives them! It pleases me to think that the story continues with those who own my creations.
